Oxjam Torquay is a series of music events produced and managed by a merry band of volunteers, culminating in a multi venue event on 21st October 2012.The events shine a national spotlight on amazing local talent and raise money to help Oxfam projects both in the UK and abroad.

Local music, global impact
Oxjam is Oxfam’s music festival. It consists of hundreds of events around the UK, all organised by volunteers who know and love their local music scene, all raising money to save lives around the world.
Since the first festival in 2006, Oxjam has raised more than £1.75 million in total for Oxfam’s work. That’s enough to buy 15,000 emergency shelters; 70,000 goats or 1050 classrooms.
Oxfam is a vibrant global movement of dedicated people fighting poverty. Together. From saving lives and developing projects that put poor people in charge of their lives and livlihoods to campaigning for change that lasts.

We’ve going to be working together on loads of fun things, culminating in a special online Oxjam edition of Q which will come out at the climax of the festival this October – all written by and about the people who’ve organised, played or partied at Oxjam events across the UK.
Q are going to be on the look out for reports and photos from organisers, performers and punters. It’s going to be a great opportunity for aspiring journalists and photographers, and also for acts and promoters who want to get their name out there.
